Trinidad, N.E.

Wednesday June 10, 2009

Last summer, a spike in homicides in Trinidad, N.E. prompted D.C. Police to set up constitutionally suspect checkpoints, cordoning off the neighborhood, requiring all visitors and even residents to pass through a gauntlet of police, conjuring up images of Baghdad. Next summer, Living With The Law will assist the Trinidad Concerned Citizens for Reform, Inc. in launching The People’s Checkpoint, a job training and placement center built on a foundation of sustainable educational, economical, and environmental practices and with the hopes of helping to eliminate violence in Trinidad. Stay connected for more information, or write us to lend your support at info@LivingWithTheLaw.com. Join us on Saturday, June 20, 2009, for the People's Checkpoint!
